Hospital Lobby Hosts New Art Exhibit
The newly renovated lobby at Morristown Memorial Hospital will highlight an art exhibit from May 18 to June 28 titled "Reflections in Realism." The display, offered in the Madison Gallery, features original watercolor and oil paintings by Medy Bozkurtian.
Bozkurtian is a Bulgarian born artist and a classically trained pianist who for the past 25 years has expressed her vision through oil and watercolor paintings. She studied piano at the Juilliard School of Music and oil painting at the Art Students' League in New York City. Her work reflects her love of people, music and nature.
The artist has exhibited at numerous locations including the American Artists Professional League at the Salmagundi Club in NYC, the Park Avenue Club, the N.J. Center for Visual Arts, Seton Hall University, the Madison, Chatham and Morris County libraries, Overlook and Morristown Memorial hospitals and Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown.
Her awards have included Best In Show at the Wayne Art Association Juried Exhibit in Oct. 2005 and an Award of Excellence at the Essex Water Color Club 2006 Fall Exhibit.
The original art works on display at the hospital as well as at the Mount Kemble Gallery on Route 202 in Morristown rotate every six weeks. All works are for sale with the proceeds benefiting Morristown Memorial Hospital.
